V-pulleys BIRN VTP®
V-pulleys VTP® = Ventilated Turbo Pulley were patented by the company BIRN (DK). Compared to classic grey iron V-pulleys, these offer the following improvements in properties:

- reduction in weight up to 50%
- radial speed up to 60m/s (theoretically up to 100m/s)
- lightweight design = lower momentum
- higher resistance to impact and damage
- material GGG60 = ductile cast iron with higher strength
- up to 17°C lower belt temperature
- longer life span due to ACC surface finish

Fig 1 Belt temperature graph
Experiments have proved that the belt temperature on VTP® pulleys is 10 to 17°C lower in comparison to standard pulleys. VTP® pulleys' design enables better heat dissipation due to perforated grooves. Perforation does not affect pulley strength.

Fig 2 Belt temperature comparison
Tests have proved that after 2 hours of operation belts running on VTP® SPB250-4 are up to over 10°C colder than identical belts running on SPB250-4 standard pulley.
Marking:
SPB 630/4 VTP TB (3525)
SPB - cross-section, 630 - Dm = nominal diameter, 4 - number of grooves, TB - for Taper bush (3525)
